Chainmail: Never leave home without it.

This horrifying story comes to us from the subreddit, Lets Not Meet.

I promise I will never make fun of live action role playing ever again. Honestly it sounds pretty cool, but it seems 1,000 times more bada** after reading this story. Our OP begins by stating that they're a big time LARPer. It's one of they're favorite hobbies, and that's how they came about owning a real-life chainmail vest.

While trying to meet up with a friend after a LARP event, the OP noticed a man staring him down. They didn't think much of it until getting off of a bus, and seeing the man coming straight for them.

Before the OP could realize what was happening they were stabbed twice. By some crazy twist of fate, they didn't have enough room in their bag to put all of their LARPing gear and that included the chainmail vest. The OP left the chainmail on, and would only later find out that it was a literal live-saver.
